Ultrasounds Oh My! And our guinea pig, Nyla!

So I just realized that I've never posted a sonogram picture of little baby Percy!  OOpps!

I'm a little biased, but I think he's a super cute baby!  We've already gotten a bunch of photos of him throughout our ultrasound appointments…. so I guess he better get used to having his picture taken!

The first couple of pictures are from our first ultrasound for our early risk screening test.  Baby Percy looks super healthy…. and of course super cute!

Baby Percy at 12 weeks

These next two are from my 15 week ultrasound, where we found out our little munchkin is a little boy munchkin!
I decided not to post the picture of his little boy parts…. but trust me…. he's 100% boy!

Ok…. now onto Nyla!

So we've kinda used Nyla as our little guinea pig to test out some of our baby items.  SSShhhh!  Don't tell PETA!

Considering she's basically the size of a newborn, we figured it only makes sense to have her try on some onesies!  She was not really a fan…. and didn't move around much (she's such a diva), but I think baby Percy will totally rock out and love his outfits!

I also scored a free $120 Baby Bjorn carrier from my co-worker that we just had to try out on one of the animals.  We tried to put Jade in it first….. But anyone who knows Jade can guess how that went!

So….. onto Nyla!!

Obviously she loved it!

Baby Percy is so lucky to have such dedicated animals.  They are totally invested in his health and safety!

20 Weeks - Whoa Mama!!

So I'm posting REALLY late this week, as I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow, but oh well!  I can't believe I'm 20 weeks already!  It seems like these past 20 (although, really 18) weeks have gone by so fast!  It seems like just yesterday I was taking a pregnancy test and finding out there was a little bun in the oven.  I think the fact that I've been feeling great throughout my entire pregnancy has helped the time fly by!  I'm just hoping and praying that the next 20 weeks will fly by and be as uneventful as the first 20!

So I had a little trouble with my board this week…. When I went to erase last weeks writing, it left a shadow of the old message…… I'll have to repaint the board, but I didn't have time to paint it before decorating my 20 week board- So I guess I'll have to deal with it!

Nyla made another cameo…. She's such an attention whore!  Just wait till the baby comes!

How far along? Picture was taken at 20 weeks 6 days….. but this is being posted at 20 weeks 7 days
Total weight gain: 8 pounds
Maternity clothes?  I'm going to be rockin' a lot of dresses this week at school.  I'll probably also break out my belly band so I can wear some of my pre pregnancy work pants/capris.
Stretch marks?  Nope!
Sleep:  Still sleeping well these days… I hope this lasts!
Best moment this week: Feeling the baby move a bunch more…. and Ben feeling him move for the first time…. YAY!
Miss anything?  Summer vacation!!!   BOOO!
Movement:  I've been feeling him move like crazy this week!  It's definitely been the most exciting moment over the past week.  He likes moving around in the morning and in the evening when I'm relaxing…. and he moves around when Jade lays on my belly.  I think he likes hearing her purr… So cute!  I was also excited to have Ben be able to feel him move for the first time.  I could never catch his movements in time…. but his little kicks and squirms are getting stronger and stronger every day.
Food cravings?  Not really….. although, I think baby boy Percy is going through a growth spurt because I've been pretty hungry over the past couple days
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope
Have you started to show yet:  Definitely showing… but it's still a pretty little bump!
Gender:  Baby boy Percy!
Labor signs:  n/a
Symptoms:  Still kinda looking like an awkward teen with this acne!  yum!
Belly button in or out?  Inie/outie – which is normal for me!
Wedding rings on or off?  on and I'm hoping it stays this way!
Mood:  Happy, excited, and feeling great!
Looking forward to:  Going to Vermont over Labor Day weekend.  I have a 4 day weekend so we're heading up on Thursday for a fun filled weekend of hanging out and engaging in lots of water activities! Woohooo!  Can't wait!
Weekly goals/plans: Gonna try to get back into working out…. blah!

19 Weeks

This past week was a little uneventful.  Our only fun activity was making the trip down to Milford, CT to celebrate with our friends, and to give Mike Beler a fabulous send off party.  Mike was in our wedding party, and is a friend from law school.  After 20 years of school, he's making the move out to San Francisco, California to live the hipster/ski bum lifestyle…. and maybe practice a little law as well! Unfortunately I didn't take any photos from this weekend…. but it's probably a good thing considering the shenanigans that went on.  I don't think anyone wanted me taking pictures from my sober point of view!

I did, however, capture my week 19 photo….. Here it goes!

Here's a picture of just the chalkboard…. I really like how it came out this week!

How far along? Picture was taken at 19 weeks 6 days….. but this is being posted at 19 weeks 7 days
Total weight gain: About 7 pounds
Maternity clothes?  Not yet….. Besides the shorts/yoga pants I get to wear to the gym for work… I pretty much rock dresses these days.  Next week should be interesting when I start school…...
Stretch marks?  Nope!
Sleep:  Still sleeping well besides the bathroom breaks….. although I really miss sleeping on my stomach and back these days
Best moment this week:  Being able to hang out with friends at Mike's going away party, and feeling baby Percy a little bit more this week
Miss anything?  Like I said above, I really miss sleeping on my stomach and back
Movement:  Still feeling "twitches" in the morning and night.  I'm definitely noticing them more and more each day, and I can now feel them from the outside too…… I'm trying to catch them in time for Ben to feel them….. but I think baby boy Percy is stubborn and is playing "hard to get"
Food cravings?  Nope
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope
Have you started to show yet:  Definitely showing these days….. but I think strangers still can't tell if I have a fat belly or if I'm preggers!
Gender:  Baby boy Percy!
Labor signs:  n/a
Symptoms:  Breaking out like an awkward freshman in high school!  Blah!
Belly button in or out?  Inie/outie – which is normal for me!
Wedding rings on or off?  on and I'm hoping it stays this way!
Mood:  Happy and excited….. although a little annoyed with this bout of acne
Looking forward to:  Unfortunately my last week of summer before my crazy two job schedule starts back up again.
Weekly goals/plans: RELAX, RELAX, RELAX!

16 and 18 weeks!

I've been a little bit of a slacker when it comes to my baby bump updates.  With our super busy past couple of weeks, it was difficult for me to find a time to update my chalkboard.  With our schedules winding down I've been able to get back on track!  So here are my week 16 and 18 bump photos, and my week 18 update!

Week 16

Week 18
(sorry for the weird shadows…. I was running out of daylight!)

Week 18
(Family shot… minus the baby daddy!)

How far along? 18 weeks 5 days
Total weight gain: 6 pounds
Maternity clothes?  Getting really close to the day when I won't be able to fit into my regular clothes…. I've been wearing A LOT of dresses lately because it's the only thing that doesn't feel too tight around my "burger belly"
Stretch marks?  Nope!
Sleep:  Sleeping well besides getting up a couple times a night to go to the bathroom
Best moment this week:  Feeling little "twitches" in my belly!
Miss anything?  not really feeling like I'm missing out on anything this week
Movement:  for the past week i've been feeling little twitches in my belly…..I usually feel it in the morning or afternoon/night when I'm sitting down relaxing.  I wasn't sure what the baby was going to feel like, but for me it definitely feels like little twitches instead of butterflies.
Food cravings?  Nope
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope
Have you started to show yet:  Definitely showing these days….. but I think strangers still can't tell if I have a fat belly or if I'm preggers!
Gender:  Baby boy Percy!
Labor signs:  No
Symptoms:  No real symptoms these days!
Belly button in or out?  Inie/outie – which is normal for me!
Wedding rings on or off?  on and I'm hoping it stays this way!
Mood:  Happy and excited
Looking forward to:  relaxing a bit this week!
Weekly goals/plans: Finally started to go to the gym… just a little bit!  Hopefully I can keep it up this week!!

Busy Little Bees - Part 2!

To celebrate Ben being done with law school and surviving taking the Massachusetts bar exam, we met up with his family at Wells Beach in Maine.  We drove to the beach on Saturday and ended up staying until Wednesday.  The cute little cottage was right on the beach, and was just so hard to say good-bye to!

our view off the back porch

One aspect of the beach that we couldn't get enough of was taking Nyla for morning and evening walks.  Dogs are allowed on the beach before 8 am and after 6 pm, so we brought Nyla out to experience the beach for the first time!  I can't believe that at 8 years old the ole' gal hasn't stepped onto a sandy beach!  She loved walking in the sand and smelling all of the fishy smells.  She was not a huge fan of actually going into the water!

The days were filled with sand castle building and lots of relaxing!

It was a perfect loooong weekend and just what we needed!  We usually try to get out of the city every few weekends or so, so it was really hard to not be able to do much of anything while Ben was studying for the bar.  We were able to recharge, eat lots of seafood, and of course watch the Olympics!  Needless to say I was pretty excited to watch gymnastics, and the girls did not disappoint!

Go Fab Five!!

Busy Little Bees - Part 1!

So, I've been quite the little blog slacker!  We've had a very busy past two weeks and it's been hard for me to find some time to sit down and write up a post.  I apologize!  I've been so busy this past week that I missed my 17 week photo, but I'll be posting my 16 and 18 week photos in the next few days!  Yay!

So it all started on July 19th when I had the distinct pleasure of hosting Mrs. Jessica Croft and her super cute little man, Blake!  I met the two of them in the public gardens, we then took Blake to the carousel in the commons.  He was a huge fan of riding on the white stallion!

We also visited our friend Molly who works in the State House for Senator Joyce.

Early Friday morning we hopped in the car and made the trek to Falmouth, MA where Jess was DJ'ing for a friend's wedding.  I spent the evening hanging with Blake!

Saturday morning we rushed to catch the 9:15 am ferry in Hyannis to take the trip over to Nantucket to visit our friend Rachael, her husband Sully and their brand new bundle of joy, baby girl Fern!

It was way too quick of a trip to Nantucket because we had to catch the 3:15 pm fast ferry back to Hyannis, but it was well worth the trip.  Being able to see Rachael and meet baby Fern days after her birthday, was worth the marathon day!

P.S- If you're in the market for a DJ - let me know and I can connect you with
Jess Croft - Part Time DJ, Full Time Fun!
And yes, I'm serious!  She's totally professional and always a good time!  Your guests will love her!

**Busy Little Bees - Part 2 will be coming soon!
